We present you an overview of the most legendary sailboat designers that made some of the most beautiful Beneteau, Jeanneau, Dufour and Elan sailing yachts.

Beneteau

ANDREANI DESIGN
Pierangelo Andreani started his career as a designer during the profusely creative period of the 1980s, as though in a dream, with Pininfarina, at the heart of the well-known design centre of the time, and took part in the creation of the Ferrari Mondial 8. Independent for the last 30 years, his passion for beauty can be seen in the design of several Beneteau boat interiors he has worked on since 2005.

BERRET-RACOUPEAU YACHT DESIGN
In 1983, Jean Berret and Olivier Racoupeau became partners to found Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design. At the foot of the towers of La Rochelle, their naval design and architecture office quickly expanded and some 15,000 boats by BRYD are now sailing. Guided in any project by their very personal view of shapes and aesthetics, the BRYD team takes balance in stability, balance of lines, and balance of costs into consideration in all its developments.

FARR YACHT DESIGN
Farr Yacht Design is recognized as one of the best racing yacht design teams in the world. It has an outstanding record of achievements in well-known races, such as the Volvo Ocean Race (formerly the Whitbread Round the World Race), America’s Cup, Vendée Globe, Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, Barcelona World Race, Transat Jacques Vabre, Copa del Rey and many others.

FINOT-CONQ ARCHITECTS

Both very close and complementary, in forty years, the Jean-Marie Finot and Pascal Conq duo has forged the reputation of designing perfectly balanced and admirably seaworthy boats. NAUTA YACHTS DESIGN

Massimo, Gino and Mario Pedol founded Nauta Yachts Design in 1985. They acquired an international reputation in the design of custom and production sailing yachts between 30 and 130 feet, but were also asked to create motor yachts of all sizes (up to 180 m (590 ft)), including “AZZAM”, currently the largest private yacht in the world.

SAM MANUARD YACHT DESIGN

Sam Manuard stands out like a bright star among the many racing yacht architects. This is because he is both a racer and an architect. A qualified geophysical engineer, at the age of 28 he chose to go back to his passion for ocean racing. He quickly made a name for himself by obtaining good results on a wide variety of boats, such as the Mini 6.50, Figaro-Beneteau, Class 40, Orma and Multi 50.

Jeanneau

ANDRIEU YACHT DESIGN

Andrieu Yacht Design is the design firm is known for its race boats, which have earned seven Offshore Racing World Championship titles and four challenges in the America’s Cup. Beyond his technical and artistic training, Andrieu is driven to explore all the aspects that go into the creation of a boat: marine architecture itself, distribution and use of space, design, interior decoration, hydrodynamics, resistance of materials, digital technology.

MARC LOMBARD DESIGN

Marc Lombard Design has created 250 different designs, and counts more than 3,500 boats now cruising the world’s waters. Together with Éric Levet for nearly 20 years, the design firm has prospered and grown, and now includes a group of eight naval architects. First specialised in multihull and monohull racing sailboats, the firm has since diversified, little by little, designing for the production yacht industry, for the world of super yachts, and more recently, for the world of workboats and motor yachts.

PHILIPPE BRIAND YACHT DESIGN

The work of Philippe Briand has for a very long time been focused on sailboat design and marked by a joyfully eclectic character, because the architect has designed race boats of every size and style. Philippe Briand has also designed Super Yachts for cruising, including some of the biggest and most elegant sailboats. In all, more than 12,000 boats have left his drafting table, the great majority of which are production boat models.

HUMPHREYS YACHT DESIGN

Humphreys Yacht Design have been principal designers for Elan Marine since the mid 1990s, working with Elan’s own extensive in-house engineering team. From the first relationship, the Elan 295, Rob Humphreys has been an ever-strengthening presence, consistently helping direct the company’s vision, with a range of boats that offer excellent racer-cruiser balance.
